Michigan Stadium restrooms‍ and bathrooms: WHAT you should know before you go

Michigan Stadium is the largest college football stadium in the world. Home to the Michigan Wolverines, the stadium can hold over 107,000 screaming fans and has a peak capacity of 114,0000 when including standing tickets.

The “Big House” is not just home to the Wolverines but is also an iconic landmark for all Michiganders as well as visitors from around the globe.

And if you plan on attending a game, you should probably know where to find the bathrooms! Here are some insider tips on how to get into Michigan Stadium restrooms and where they are located within this massive venue.

Where are the bathrooms in Michigan Stadium?

There are signs that show you where the toilets are. They are located in the middle of the stadium and in the corners.

Each ring of the tribune has its own toilets. You won’t have to walk too far to find toilets. You can get an overview here.

Most toilets also have a changing table for kids. This is indicated with a separate sign.

The stadium restrooms are cleaned every day and stocked with the essentials, including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and hand sanitizer.  They also have baby changing stations available in each restroom.

The stadium has a very large amount of toilets, so they are rarely out of toilet paper or other necessities. However, as with any public bathroom, there is a chance that they could run out, so it is a good idea to carry a few extra tissues with you in case they are out.

They have gender-inclusive restrooms and accessible restrooms so everyone should feel comfortable when they use the toilet.

Tips for Using the Bathrooms During a Game or concert

Going to the bathroom before the game or concert is a great idea as things are generally quite calm at this point.

This also allows you to locate the toilets while it is still quite calm. This can be handy if you are in a rush later on in the evening.

They also have water fountains that you can drink from in this stadium.

Tips for Using the Bathrooms During a break

Game breaks are peak times as everyone wants to use the bathroom at the same time. If you can, you should go to them just before or after the break.

This will make sure that you don’t have to wait too long. If you go after the break, the toilets might be quite dirty though as there hasn’t been time to clean them yet.

Be prepared to wait in line during the game.

You might be standing in a line for a few minutes.

Tips for Using the Bathrooms after the game or concert

Stay away from the toilets immediately after the game has ended. The stadium get extremely crowded as fans leave the stadium as soon as the game is over. This means you will likely be waiting in extremely long lines.

You can go to the toilet in a nearby restaurant instead.

Alternatively, you can wait 30 minutes after the game before you go to the toilet.

The toilets in the North-East entry start to close at the start of the 3rd quarter. The ones near the southwest entry stay open until 1 hour after the game.

Are the toilets free to use

The Michigan Stadium restrooms are free to use. They are maintained by a team of stadium janitors and attendants.

You can give a tip but this is generally not an obligation.

What are the waiting times

Unfortunately, given the enormous amount of people attending a game, there are bound to be some waiting for the bathrooms. It is recommended that you bring some reading material or a smartphone game to keep yourself occupied while you are waiting in line.

In most instances, you shouldn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes.

The lines for the bathrooms should diminish greatly as the game nears its end. The end of the game usually brings a huge crowd of people heading to the restrooms at once, however, so you may find yourself waiting in line again.

Are they clean and can you flush the toilet paper?

The Michigan Stadium restrooms are cleaned each day and are stocked with the essentials, including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and hand sanitizer. Bathrooms are not generally something that people have a positive view of in terms of cleanliness, but the restrooms at Michigan Stadium are very clean.

They are cleaned daily, and the janitors keep them stocked with all the necessities. If there is a big game at the stadium, you can be certain that there are people nearby keeping an eye on the toilets to make sure they stay clean.

During breaks, it is possible that the toilets might be slightly dirty as a lot of people use them in a short period of time.

It is allowed to flush the toilet paper after you have used the toilet. You don’t have to place the paper in a bin. They don’t have bidets in the stadion.

Is there a janitor?

Yes, there is a janitor for every restroom in the Michigan Stadium. The stadium employs janitors who clean and stock the restrooms every day. You will often see them walking around with a cart that has cleaning supplies.

If you notice that a restroom is dirty, you can notify a janitor and they will clean it. The stadium restrooms are checked frequently by attendants and janitors who will make sure they are clean and stocked with essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.

How to lock the doors of the toilets

Most toilets have a lock that you can turn. Just push the handle down and it should be locked. You can double-check this by giving the door a slight nudge.

To open the door, you can just turn the handle of the lock. Once this is done, you can turn the door and exit the toilet.

If there is a problem with the lock, you can call the reception of the stadium. You can also talk to other people in the toilet and get help this way.

The urinals don’t have locks.
